AGV traffic on a logistics bridge, studied before construction
Find out how much the vehicles would interfere with one another, and whether the AGV fleet would be enough, before deciding on the works.

Context
The client wanted to bring material by AGV straight into its plant, which meant building a bridge over the road. First it needed to know whether the AGVs would be enough, above all in the delivery area, where space was very tight.
Challenge
- A delivery area with very little space
- Vehicles that may meet as they leave the bridge
What we did
A first saturation study and then, with the CYP DATA team, a statistical calculation (using Laplace transforms) of the probability of two vehicles meeting as they leave the bridge.
-
Saturation study
Calculation of AGV saturation on the planned route over the bridge.
-
Interference probability
With the CYP DATA team, a statistical model of the probability of two vehicles meeting as they leave the bridge.
